As humans, we can go for weeks without food but only a few days without water.  Our body is composed of over 70% water and it is used constantly throughout our body in various ways so it is vitally important to make sure that we drink regularly to make sure that the fluid that is used, is replaced.  

Have you ever stopped to appreciate how lucky you are to have water constantly available?  Many people in other countries do not have water available to drink from taps and many other people in other countries are not lucky enough to have taps in their houses (or houses!!), instead having to walk for several miles to the local watering hole to fill up containers.  In our country, We are so fortunate to have this basic yet utterly necessary component in our lives that we often take it for granted.

With the warmer weather approaching us, it is crucial that we take on more water when training as we will sweat more.  Just a 10% loss of body fluids can hamper your performance.  Don't wait to feel thirsty - this is already a sign that you are dehydrated.  By having small sips you will ensure that you stay hydrated and in the peak of your training abilities.  The more we stay in our peak, the more we improve when we train!
